With spring break on the horizon, you might be wondering what to do with your kids during that time off from school. There are so many fun activities for kids of all ages to try in the Connecticut area that will keep them smiling. Connecticut offers both indoor and outdoor options: museums, zoos, nature centers, science centers… just to name a few. Here are some of our top picks for what to do with your kids this spring break (or anytime!).  

 New England Air Museum

 Located at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, this aerospace museum is one of the nation’s outstanding aviation museums. Your child’s imagination can soar as he travels through the history of aviation and tour the museum’s three exhibit hangers with more than 80 aircraft from all periods of history. They can also experience how airplanes move in three-dimensions with their hands at the controls and test their skills in various aircraft models.

 Connecticut Science Center

 What kid doesn’t love a trip to the science center? The Connecticut Science Center is fun for both children and adults. Explore the several galleries the center offers such as the Invention Dimension and KidSpace; 165+ interactive exhibits consisting of videos, visuals, and tactile; 3D digital theater; events, demonstrations; and much more!

 Oak Grove Nature Center

 Slather on the sunscreen and scoot the kids outside for some fun! The Oak Grove Nature Center is a fifty-two acre nature preserve that features a pond, walking/hiking trails, and a cover bridge. Kids can enjoy the tranquility and natural wonders of the outdoors by exploring the many different types of birds, bugs, and animals that can be found at the Oak Grove Nature Center.

 Beardsley Zoo

 Spending the day at the zoo is one of the best family fun things to do! Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is the only zoo in the state and features the South American Rainforest with free-flight aviary; Predators; Alligator Alley; Hoofstock featuring bison, pronghorn, deer and more; and New England Farmyard with goats, cows, pigs, sheep and other barnyard critters. The zoo has more than 300 animals representing primarily North and South American species. Also, many endangered and threatened species including the Siberian tiger, Andean condor, Red wolf, and Golden lion tamarin.
